Thelma Harrington Bell (1896-1985)
Award winning American author born in 1896 in Detroit. She worked as a copywriter before teaming up with husband Corydon Bell to embark upon a successful career writing children's novels. Corydon was a talented artist who illustrated her books and also collaborated with her on some of them.
I don't know what interest Ms. Bell had in horses, but she obviously liked animals, as a number of her books were animal-themed, although just one a pony story.
